VERIFICATION SEARCH

The following information is needed to locate records:

  • The examinee's Social Security Number (SSN) or TEA assigned ID number
  • Date of Birth
    OR
  • Examinee's complete name at the time of testing
  • Date of Birth

Your Verfication Letter will include your:

  • Name
  • Certificate Number
  • Issue Date

Records BEFORE 1994

  • If you received your GED® Certificate BEFORE 1994, it may not appear in this search. To search the main database, please call the Texas GED® Unit at 512-463-9292.

Information About Records:

  • The GED® Unit holds records for GED® testing in Texas.
  • Records go back to the 1940s.
  • GED® Unit will only confirm, whether or not the person has a GED® Certificate; test scores are not displayed. Furthermore, we do NOT confirm whether or not a person has ever taken a GED® test.
  • If you wish to have your SSN and test scores included on your Verification Letter, please fax a Verification and Release Form.
    • A Verification Letter is NOT AN OFFICIAL document. If you need your TRANSCRIPT / CERTIFICATE, please mail (MAIL ONLY) the GED® Certificate Request Form.
